These settings focus on **interaction behavior, storage methods, visibility rules, and follow-up actions** after a visitor makes a consent choice. You can access these options from: **Settings > Banner > Advanced** ![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/1/a/5/a/1a5af239e847cf00/screenshot-2026-03-05-at-34224_c72n79.png) The Advanced tab is intended for merchants who want more control over how the consent dialog behaves beyond layout, styling, and content configuration. --- ### Custom Open / Reopen This option allows visitors to reopen the cookie banner from a **custom link inside the store navigation or content**. When enabled: * The page behind the banner becomes visually inactive. * Visitors must interact with the banner before continuing. This option can make the consent request more visible and prominent. #### Lock Background Scroll When this option is enabled together with **Enforced consent**, the page **cannot be scrolled while the banner is visible**. The following close methods are available: #### Close Button X) Displays a **close button in the banner header** allowing visitors to dismiss the dialog. ![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/1/a/5/a/1a5af239e847cf00/screenshot-2026-03-05-at-34914_u6tw1x.png) #### Alternative Close Methods Additional interaction methods can also close the banner: * **Escape key press** – Closing the dialog using the keyboard. * **Click outside the window** – Closing the dialog when clicking outside the banner area. * **Window scroll over N pixels** – Closing the banner after the visitor scrolls a defined number of pixels (default: 200). * **Timeout** – Automatically closing the banner after a specified time. These methods can be combined depending on the desired visitor experience. --- ### Follow-up Actions Follow-up actions define **what happens after a visitor makes a consent choice**. Available options include: #### Reload Page on Consent Reloads the page after the visitor accepts or declines cookies. This can help ensure that scripts requiring consent are properly initialized after the consent decision. || This option should be used carefully as it forces a page refresh. #### Redirect if User Denies All If a visitor declines all cookies, the store can **redirect the visitor to another page**. Consent is not stored in this case. #### Synchronize Consent Across Tabs || Available on **Enterprise plans**. When this feature is enabled, you can define how the system should interpret the closure of the dialog. Available storage methods include: #### HTML Storage Stores the consent decision in the browser using **HTML storage mechanisms**. #### Cookie Storage Stores consent using a **browser cookie**. You can configure: * **Expiration duration** (for example: 365 days) After the expiration period, the banner will be shown again to the visitor. #### Cross-domain Consent || Available on Enterprise plans. This option allows consent to be stored in a **parent domain**, enabling subdomains to read the same consent decision. The delay is measured in **milliseconds**. #### Start Hidden for Specific Paths Available on **Enterprise plans**. Allows hiding the banner on specific pages or paths. Examples: * `/policies/privacy-policy` * `/pages/cookie-policy` Regular expressions are supported for advanced path rules. #### Disable for Known Bots & Crawlers Prevents the banner from appearing for **search engine bots and crawlers**. This helps avoid unnecessary banner rendering for automated traffic. --- ### Summary The **Advanced Banner Settings** provide additional control over how the cookie banner behaves and interacts with visitors. These settings allow merchants to: * Define how visitors can close the banner * Control follow-up actions after consent * Configure how consent is stored * Manage where and when the banner appears Together, these options allow for a more flexible configuration of the cookie consent experience.
