# How to show the legal guarantee notice in checkout (Shopify Plus)

### Overview

On Shopify Plus stores, **Pandectes EU Warranty & GARAN** can show the legal guarantee notice in checkout, where shoppers pay. It adds a **Legal Notice** card, a link under your checkout policy links, and, under each product in the order summary, the GARAN label for products that have GARAN data.

Checkout placement is an addition. The product page notice stays where it is.

||| Checkout extensions are only available on Shopify Plus stores. On other Shopify plans, the **Widget (Checkout)** row and the **Legal Notice in checkout** section do not appear in the app. This article is general information, not legal advice.

### What you need

* A **Shopify Plus** store.
* The **Plus** plan of the app. On Basic, the **Widget (Checkout)** row is locked and reads "Showing the notice and GARAN labels in checkout requires the Plus plan". * The notice turned on for shoppers: **Notice & label > Active** on. Until then the row reads "Shows in checkout once the notice is on for shoppers."

### Add the Legal Notice block to checkout

1. Open **Shopify Admin > Apps > Pandectes EU Warranty & GARAN**. The **Dashboard** opens.
2. On the **Storefront status** card, find the **Widget (Checkout)** row.
3. Select **Customize checkout**. The checkout editor opens. You can also open it in Shopify under **Settings > Checkout > Customize**.
4. Select **Add block** where you want the card, for example in **Main**, above the **Pay now** button, and choose **Legal Notice**.
5. To also show the link under your policy links, add **Legal Notice** in the **Footer** section too.
6. **Save** in the checkout editor.
7. Back in the app, select **I've added it**. The row then reads `Added`. Select **Undo** if you marked it by mistake.

Checkout cannot be checked automatically, so the app relies on you marking it. Open your checkout on the storefront to see the notice.

### Choose how the card looks

1. Open **Notice & label** and scroll to **Legal Notice in checkout**. You can also select **Style and preview** on the **Widget (Checkout)** row.
2. Under **Block style**, choose **Card with a "View" button** or **Clickable card with an arrow**. The link next to your checkout policy links stays the same.
3. Under **Icon**, pick the icon at the start of the card.
4. Check the **Checkout** page in the **Preview** card on the right. It shows Shopify's standard checkout style. Your checkout's own colors and fonts apply in your store.

### Edit the button text

With the **Card with a "View" button** style, the button reads **View** by default. To change it:

1. Open **Texts & languages**.
2. Find **Button on the checkout card**. It appears on Shopify Plus stores only.
3. Enter your text, up to 30 characters, for each language you use. Leave it empty to use our standard text.
4. Save.

### GARAN labels in checkout

For each product that has GARAN data, the order summary shows the GARAN label under the product. Add the data on the **Garan label list** page: [How to add GARAN labels to your products](/en/article/how-to-add-garan-labels-to-your-products-t5ei1z/).

### If the notice does not show in checkout

| Check | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| Your store | The checkout extension only works on Shopify Plus stores. |
| The app plan | On Basic the row is locked. Upgrade on the **Plan** page. |
| The block | The **Legal Notice** block must be added and saved in the checkout editor. |
| The master switch | **Notice & label > Active** must be on. |
