# Installation Guide

### Overview

This guide explains how to install **Pandectes GDPR Compliance**, enable the app embed, and activate the cookie banner on your Shopify store.

The installation is automatic after adding the app to your store.

### What Pandectes adds to your store

Pandectes can help you add:

* A cookie consent banner
* Customer data request options
* A cookies declaration page

### Step 1: Install the app

You can install Pandectes from the website or from the Shopify App Store.

**From the Pandectes website**

Go to [Pandectes.io](https://pandectes.io/) and click **Install Free on Shopify**.

**From the Shopify App Store**

Go to the [Pandectes GDPR Compliance app listing](https://apps.shopify.com/gdpr-cookie-consent) and click **Install**.

### Step 2: Complete the setup guide

After installation, open the Pandectes app from your Shopify admin.

Follow the setup guide to:

* Enable the app embed inside the theme customizer
* Enable the banner
* Review the suggested setup steps

You can dismiss the guide at any time. The same setup reminders will still be available inside the app.

### Step 3: Check the banner status

At the top of the Pandectes dashboard, use the **Banner status** section to control the banner.

You can:

* Click **Enable** to activate the banner
* Click **Disable** to hide the banner
* Click **Enable for admins** to show it only to admins
* Click **Customize** to edit the banner settings

### Step 4: Check your storefront

Open your storefront and confirm that the cookie banner appears with the default layout and content.

If the banner is disabled, the dashboard will show **Banner is disabled**. Click **Enable** to activate it again.

### Admin Mode

Use **Enable for admins** if you want to test the banner before showing it to visitors.

When this option is active, only store admins can see the banner.

### Customer data requests

Pandectes can add a **Customer data requests** page to your store.

This page can display:

* The visitor’s current consent status
* An option to revoke consent
* A form for customer or guest data requests

### Cookies declaration

Pandectes can also add a **Cookies declaration** page to your store.

This page displays a structured table with the cookies used on your store and basic information about them.
