Consent apps may inject scripts into the Shopify theme, create privacy request pages, configure integrations, and apply settings through Shopify’s Customer Privacy API. If these elements remain after uninstalling the app, they can interfere with the new consent system or allow tracking scripts to run without being controlled by the new cookie banner. This guide explains how to properly remove Consentmo and transition your store to Pandectes. ### Step 1: Remove Consentmo Scripts from the Theme Before installing a new CMP, review your Shopify theme for scripts that may have been added by Consentmo. 1. Open **Shopify Admin** 2. Navigate to **Online Store > Themes** 3. Click **Edit theme** on your active theme 4. Scripts may appear: • inside the `` section • near the closing `` tag • inside snippets or custom JavaScript files If these scripts remain in the theme after uninstalling the app, they may continue to load and interfere with the new consent banner. ### Step 2: Check Integration Scripts Consentmo can add scripts that control integrations with external services. Examples include integrations with: • Google Consent Mode • Klaviyo • analytics or marketing services If these scripts were added directly to the theme, they may still be present even after the app is removed. If your store used custom scripts connected to Consentmo events, those triggers may still exist in the theme files. Review your theme code and remove or update any scripts that rely on Consentmo consent events. If these scripts remain active, they may fail to run correctly or trigger unexpected behavior once the CMP is removed. ### Step 4: Remove DSAR Compliance Pages Consentmo may automatically create pages used for privacy requests such as: • Data access requests • Data updates • Data deletion requests These pages can be found in Shopify under: **Online Store > Pages** If these pages were created by Consentmo and are no longer needed, they can be removed. ![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/1/a/5/a/1a5af239e847cf00/screenshot-2026-03-04-at-11581_52thym.png) ### Step 5: Uninstall the Consentmo App After reviewing the theme, integrations, and settings: 1. Go to **Shopify Admin** 2. Navigate to **Apps** 3. Locate **Consentmo** 4.
