How to Configure Pandectes Banner (new version) to Meet Google Consent Requirements

In this guide, you will learn how to configure the Pandectes app in order to meet all the requirements of Google’s policies. Follow the next steps to prepare a banner that covers all these requirements.

Steps

1. Install the app

Install the app from the Shopify app store.

2. Enable the Pandectes Core app embed

Access the application and activate the Pandectes Core app embed inside the theme and click Save.

3. Install the rules script

Ensure you have installed the rules script on your theme.liquid.

Copy:

<script src="{{ 'pandectes-rules.js' | file_url }}"></script>

and paste it just after the opening <head> tag inside your theme.liquid file.

Navigate to Settings > Integrations, activate Google Consent Mode v2, and click Save.

5. Select the Preferences banner type

The Banner settings menu has changed.

Navigate to Settings > Banner > Layout and configure the following:

  1. Under Banner type, select Preferences center or Notice → preferences
  2. (Optional but recommended) Enable Consent widget
  3. Click Save

Note: In the previous UI this option was under Behavior. It is now located under the Layout tab.

The Google terms link is no longer configured under Behavior.

Navigate to Settings > Banner > Content, then scroll to Links and:

  1. Enable Google partners page
  2. Keep the default Google URL
  3. Click Save

7. Add Google-required disclosure text

Navigate to Settings > Banner > Content and, in the Message field, make sure you have included at the end the following text:

The collection, sharing, and use of personal data can be used for personalization of ads.

Final Result

After completing these steps:

  • Google Consent Mode v2 is enabled
  • The banner uses a Preferences center layout
  • Google’s required disclosure text is present
  • The Google partners link is visible to visitors

This configuration reflects Google’s current policy requirements and the latest Pandectes Banner UI.
