Cookie Scanner Settings
Configure the behavior and automation of the Pandectes Cookie Scanner to ensure your store remains compliant and up to date with the latest tracking technologies.
Store Access for Password-Protected Stores
If your Shopify store is password-protected (e.g., before launch), the scanner won’t be able to access your storefront unless a password is provided.
To allow scanning:
- Enter your Shopify storefront password in the scanner settings.
- Keep the password updated to prevent failed scans.
- You can find your store’s password in Shopify > Online Store > Preferences
Scan Type
Pandectes provides the following scan types:
Scan Type | Description |
Manual Scan | A user-initiated scan is performed on the store requested by the merchant. |
Schedule Scan | Automatically scans the store based on the schedule configured by the merchant. |
Manual Scan
When you visit the scan history inside the scan reports page, there is an option to request such a scan.
This will perform a scan instantly.
Schedule Scan
You can enable recurring scans through the Scan Schedule section.
Available options:
- Scan Frequency: Never, Weekly, Monthly
- Day & Time: Choose when the scan should run (the scheduler respects your Shopify store’s timezone)
Follow-up action
As a follow-up action you can let any new cookies or storage elements detected during a scan to be automatically appended to your existing cookie list (visible in Cookies & HTML Storage settings).
This ensures your cookie declaration stays accurate and current without manual intervention.
If you don't check this option the new results will be only visible on the scan report.
Best Practice
We recommend enabling scheduled scans and keeping password access current (if applicable) to maintain a reliable and legally compliant cookie inventory.
