Customizing the cookie categories

Cookies (as well script tags that create cookies) can be classified into one of the following categories:

Strictly necessary
Functionality
Performance
Targeting
Unclassified

Can I create new cookie categories?

It is not possible to create additional categories. The user’s consent will be for the entire category e.g. all functionality cookies/scripts, all performance cookies/scripts, and/or all targeting cookies/scripts.

Can I delete one of the categories?

The number of categories is fixed to 4 plus the unclassified which is used for the cookies and script tags that have not yet been categorized. There are cases where a store cannot have cookies and/or script tags to all of them but we provide all of them to cover all scenarios.

Can I rename the existing categories?

You can rename the existing categories if you would like from the option Categories on the Settings page.

How to classify cookies and script tags?

When the app detects a new cookie and/or script that our application cannot detect based on our database then this belongs to the unclassified category which means that it needs to be classified by you manually. The categorization depends on the purpose each time of the cookie and/or script tag.
