IAB TCF v2.2 Compliance with Pandectes

The IAB’s Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) is a standardized system created to promote transparency and compliance in digital advertising, specifically targeting GDPR regulations. It offers guidelines and technical specifications for Consent Management Platforms (CMPs) to manage user consent and preferences related to data processing.

In line with this industry standard, Pandectes has registered with the IAB as a certified CMP with ID 445. This certification enhances the platform’s credibility, offering an added layer of trust and reliability.

Pandectes has recently been recognized as a Consent Management Platform (CMP) by IAB Europe. Following thorough testing and evaluation, Pandectes has been included in the official list of CMPs that adhere to the compliance standards established by the IAB Europe’s CMP Compliance Program. This recognition underscores our dedication to delivering premier privacy compliance solutions that conform to rigorous industry standards.

Following this approval, you now have the option to activate this feature for your store’s cookie bar.

Note: Google’s Requirement for EEA, UK and Swiss Users
Starting July 31, 2024, to comply with the EU User Consent Policy, websites using Google publisher products (such as AdSense, Ad Manager, or AdMob) must implement a certified CMP that integrates with the TCF in order to serve ads to users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland. Pandectes is a Google-certified CMP for compliance with IAB TCF version 2.2.

Implementation of Pandectes IAB Consent Framework

To implement the IAB consent framework, follow the below steps:

Access Pandectes GDPR Compliance app on your Shopify store
Navigate to Settings > Banner > Behavior and select the TCF/IAB v2.2 banner type
Make sure you have activated the Pandectes app embed option inside your theme

Once you save the changes, your store will automatically display the TCF-compliant consent banner to users accessing it.

How it works

A user's consent information includes their choices or preferences related to vendors, purposes, and special features as defined by the TCF framework. Once enabled, the IAB TCF sends consent signals to vendors via the Consent Management Platform (CMP) when the user interacts with the website. These signals convey the user's consent preferences for each vendor and purpose, helping vendors determine whether they have permission to process the user's data for specific purposes.

Regarding the cookie banner, you will observe that the text in the first and second layers is longer and non-editable. This is because IAB TCF v2.2 enforces strict guidelines on the wording to ensure users receive clear and concise information about the collection and processing of their data.

IAB Europe has approved the consent banner text for Pandectes, and we do not allow any modifications to the IAB TCF text to maintain TCF compliance.

Google’s Additional Consent Mode

In addition to IAB TCF v2.2, Pandectes also supports Google’s Additional Consent Mode. This feature allows websites to obtain user consent for Google’s Ad technology providers that may not be listed on the IAB Europe Global Vendor List. This ensures that explicit user consent is secured before any data collection or tracking related to Google’s Ad technology providers takes place.
