Integrating Pandectes GDPR Compliance with Elevar Tag Management Suite
Learn how to integrate Pandectes GDPR compliance with Analyzely for Google Analytics 4.
This guide provides step-by-step instructions to ensure your analytics are compliant.
The following article is targeted at Shopify merchants that are using the Pandectes GDPR Compliance app to run their cookie banner and that also use or want to use Elevar Tagging and Tracking Management.
Elevar will make sure that all the tags of your Google Tag Manager container have been properly configured to fire only after the visitors of your store have consented and given the right permissions.
Here’s how to configure the cookie banner in the Pandectes GDPR Compliance. First, open the GDPR Compliance App and follow the next steps.
From the Dashboard, click on the Customize link.
Under the Behavior tab, look for the Banner type/Consent Mode section. Make sure to select one of the options that will guarantee that all but necessary cookies are blocked when a visitor comes to your store. Select any of the following:
Accept only
Accept/Decline
Preferences (make sure the Strict policy or the Strict/Loose policy checkbox below is also checked)
Click on the Save button.
Whenever a new visitor comes to your store, the cookie banner will initialize the GTM container with the proper permissions to stay in compliance! When the visitor eventually takes an action on the banner, it will make sure to update the GTM Container to apply the new permissions for the tags to fire.
Finally, leave the Google Consent Mode option (which is under Settings > Integrations) switched off. You are turning off consent mode in the Pandectes app because this is handled by the GTM tag you imported into your GTM container.
