Select regions for our cookie banner (Legacy)
Overview
This guide explains how to select the regions where Shopify should collect visitor consent when using the legacy Pandectes banner.
Use this guide only if your regions are configured manually in Shopify Customer Privacy settings.
How region selection works
Shopify uses Customer Privacy settings to decide where consent is required before collecting marketing and analytics data.
When Pandectes is installed as your privacy app, you can use Pandectes for the banner while Shopify still manages the selected consent regions.
Step 1: Open Shopify settings
In your Shopify admin, go to Settings.

Step 2: Open Customer Privacy
Select Customer Privacy from the left sidebar, then click Cookie Banner.
Make sure Pandectes GDPR Compliance appears in the installed privacy apps section.

Step 3: Disable the Shopify cookie banner
On the Cookie Banner page:
- Click Remove cookie banner.
- Turn off Automated settings.
This disables Shopify’s default banner and lets you choose the regions manually.

Step 4: Select regions
Choose the regions where Shopify should collect data only after visitor consent.
You can add or remove regions based on where your store sells and how you want consent collection to work.
Click Confirm when finished.

Recommended regions
Shopify may show recommended regions selected by default.
In the legacy setup, this commonly includes European regions such as Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
Review this list before saving. You can also select more regions if needed.
