How to setup the Do Not Sell My Data page

Overview

This guide explains how to create a Do not sell my data page using Pandectes GDPR Compliance.

This page gives visitors a place to submit an opt-out request for the sale or sharing of personal data, where applicable.

How it works

The page uses the Pandectes Do not sell my data theme section.

If a visitor uses Global Privacy Control (GPC), Pandectes can detect the signal and apply the opt-out behavior based on your store setup.

Step 1: Create the theme template

1. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
2. Open your active theme.
3. Use the top menu and select Pages > Create template.
4. Name the template donotsell.
5. In the left panel, click Add section.
6. Search for Pandectes Do not sell my data.
7. Add the section to the template.
8. Make sure the section is visible.
9. Click Save.

Step 2: Create the page

1. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Pages.
2. Create a new page or open an existing page.
3. Add a clear page title, such as Do not sell my data.
4. In the theme template setting, select the donotsell template.
5. Click Save.

Step 3: Add a footer menu link

1. In Shopify admin, go to Content > Menus.
2. Open the Footer menu.
3. Click Add menu item.
4. Set the name to Do not sell my data.
5. Link it to the page you created in Step 2.
6. Click Save.

Check the page

Open your storefront and click the footer link.

Confirm that:

• The page opens correctly.
• The Pandectes opt-out section appears.
• The page is visible to visitors.
