How to group cookies by provider in the preferences dialog (New Version)

Overview


It covers how cookies are listed inside Preferences, not how you classify cookies in the scanner.


When visitors open preferences, they can expand a category and see individual cookies. You can also group cookies by provider so Shopify, Google, and other vendors appear as groups instead of a flat list.


Cookie names, providers, and purposes come from Settings > Cookies & HTML Storage. Empty or unclassified cookies make the dialog harder to read.

Before you start


  • Consent dialogs must include preferences: Cookie notice & Preferences or Preferences only on Layout.
  • Run or review a cookie scan so the list is current.



  1. Open Shopify Admin > Apps > Pandectes GDPR Compliance.
  2. Go to Settings > Banner > Layout.
  3. Open Preferences layout options.
  4. Enable Show cookies list so visitors can expand categories.
  5. Enable Group cookies by provider for vendor drill-down.
  6. Optional: enable Show category descriptions and Use checkboxes instead of switches.
  7. Save.

Verify


  1. Preview Preferences in the Banner previewer.
  2. Expand a category such as Performance or Targeting.
  3. Confirm cookies are grouped by provider and that purposes match Cookies & HTML Storage.
