Why the legal guarantee notice is not showing on a product page

Overview

Most reports of a missing legal guarantee notice come down to one of six causes. This article works through them in the order they actually occur, so start at the top rather than jumping to the technical checks.

Before anything else, confirm what you expect to see. In Collapsed and As a popup mode the artwork is behind a Legal guarantee link, and it only loads once a shopper opens it. A product page showing that link and no image is working correctly.

Start with the Dashboard

Open Shopify Admin > Apps > Pandectes EU Warranty & GARAN. Three cards rule out most causes in a few seconds:

Card

Healthy state

If it is not healthy

App embed

App embed active

Go to 1. The Warranty app embed is off

Notice

Live

Go to 4. The notice is disabled or in Admins-only mode

Official artwork

Ready, 24 of 24 ready

Go to 6. The official artwork is not synced

1. The Warranty app embed is off

The app embed is what loads the storefront script. Nothing else does. Without it, the theme block renders an inert page and no amount of other configuration helps.

  1. Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize.
  2. Open Theme settings > App embeds.
  3. Turn on Warranty.
  4. Save.
  5. Back in the app, select Check again, or reload the Dashboard and confirm the App embed card reads App embed active.

The app checks your published theme. If you are working on a duplicate or a draft theme, the card keeps reading "off" no matter how many times you save.

2. The block is missing from this product's template

The Pandectes Legal Notice block is added per product template. This is the most common reason the notice works on most products and not on one.

  1. Open the product in Shopify Admin and look at Online store > Theme template to see which template it uses.
  2. Open that template in the theme editor.
  3. Confirm Pandectes Legal Notice is present under Add to cart. If not, add it with Add block > Apps > Pandectes Legal Notice and Save.

Subscription and bundle products are the usual offenders, because they very often sit on an alternate template that nobody added the block to.

3. The product is excluded

Open Exclusion in the app and search for the product. If it is listed, the Reason column names the rule that hid it: a gift card, a digital or download product type, a service, a B2B line, or one of your own tag, type, vendor, or collection filters.

This takes ten seconds to check and is often the answer.

4. The notice is disabled or in Admins-only mode

Open Notice and look at the status card.

  • The Enabled toggle off means no shopper sees the notice anywhere.
  • The Admins only toggle on, with Enabled off, shows the notice in the theme editor and theme preview only.

Admins-only mode is not visible on the live storefront, not even to the store owner or a staff account. If you turned it on to check the notice before the deadline, preview your theme instead of opening the live URL. To show the notice on the live store, turn Enabled on, which also makes it visible to shoppers.

5. The market gate is hiding it

If Notice > Style > Markets > EU markets only is on and you are browsing a non-EU market, the notice renders nowhere. A store previewing its USD market with that toggle on looks exactly like a broken install.

Check the market or currency selector in your storefront header. Switch to an EU market, or turn the toggle off, and reload.

6. The official artwork is not synced

The notice stays off until every language image finishes processing.

Open the Official artwork card on the Dashboard, or setup step 4:

  • Not synced, 0 of 24: select Start artwork job.
  • Processing: wait, Shopify is still processing the uploads.
  • Ready, 24 of 24, but still no image: the uploaded files were renamed or deleted in Shopify Content > Files. The app matches them by filename. Select Re-sync official artwork, and do not rename those files again.

Two things that look like faults but are not

The artwork only appears after a click. In Collapsed and As a popup mode the image is deliberately not requested until a shopper opens the disclosure. To show it straight away, set Notice > Style > Legal notice to Always visible.

The image loads late on a long page. Even in Always visible mode the artwork loads lazily. If the notice sits far below the fold, scroll down to it before concluding the image is broken.

A password-protected storefront

A storefront behind a password page does not render theme app blocks at all. If your URL redirects to /password, remove the password or preview the theme instead.

Still not showing

Contact us from the app footer with:

  • The product URL where you expect the notice.
  • A screenshot of the app Dashboard showing the three status cards.
  • The theme you are testing, and whether it is the published one.
